Buying gifts and friends in Kuopio for Christmas
The city of Coopio appeared on the map in 1652 and served as a large shopping port. On the pier every now and then one could meet ships from other countries.
Today in local Finnish museums you can familiarize yourself with the layouts of those ships that were moored here.
Among them there are models of Russian sailing boats, on which merchants mainly sailed. Therefore, there is nothing strange in the fact that today there are shops with Russian names in the city.
Before the New Year, every resident of the city of Coopio goes shopping and is looking for gifts for his relatives and friends.
To be more precise, this is done before Christmas – Lutheran, namely, these include the majority of Finnish citizens, this holiday is celebrated on December 25.
