As a consulting psychologist, people often tell me about their passion for art and even about plans to change the profession. Honestly, it becomes a little uneasy when you hear from a specialist in a specific production or business industry about plans to become an artist, writer or photographer.
With all your professional optimism regarding the capabilities and abilities of a person to update life, you involuntarily catch yourself in doubt. From scratch, promote a career in a new profession, earn on the usual – quite high – level? Maybe it’s just fatigue from repeated realities of boring work? Or the illusion of simplicity of creative professions?
Having once chosen a serious business environment, bringing good money, allowing you to comfortably arrange your life, a reliable, demanded profession and high qualifications, many undoubtedly either take risks or feed illusions. And yet – it is better to make and regret than to regret all my life that I haven’t done!
Of course, many of us really have a creative vein that remained unrealized. It’s nice to open yourself in art, music, dancing. Some of us have a very strong need for such self -realization. And this is fine! Huge benefits – it is both relaxation and self -expression. We can say that the moments of creativity are the moments of genuine human happiness.
Life offers a variety of different types of activities and ways to get joy and pleasure. Man himself creates these pleasures. The search for the missed meaning of their existence many people abandon too far. It seems that at first such people do not think about themselves at all, about their life joys and pleasures, and then seem to be caught on and begin to feverishly catch up with the elusive joy of life.
But you can combine beauty and benefit, work and joy, meaning and feelings, hobbies and responsibility. Maybe this is the elusive harmony, for the moments of which we are ready to give so much? Maybe in order to do what we like – to eat, pray, love, draw, make music or travel – it is not necessary to throw everything in your established and successful life?
