Each business era dictates its own topics for discussions. The modern business community is concerned about leadership problems. What is leadership? Who is the leader? Leaders are born or become? Or the leading position turns you into a leader? What should be a real leader? Most managers are not real leaders, since they were not elected to their position (for example, through honest and transparent elections in the company). Therefore, by definition, they are none other than dictators. Some of them can behave honestly and fairly, but in fact it does not change their dictatorial status.
But does this mean that real leaders should go through the election process? Or for this the short prefix “top-” in the name of the position?
How to feel the difference between those who have made the leaders, and those who are called leaders for their essence and behavior.
There are leaders with a capital letter and leaders with a small letter. No matter how paradoxical it sounds, in fact, we all strive to work with these, the last. Everything is very simple:
Leaders (with a capital letter) are people endowed with power. These include official leaders of companies. Leadership is expected from them, since their job description prescribes them to rule. Finally, if you have a highest salary and a much more loud name of the position, it means that you will be “managing a banquet”.
Leaders (with a small letter) are people who simply control others and direct them, regardless of their position or functionality. They lead actively. Lead people with their own example, first making tough decisions or taking up a difficult job. They are not leaders (position), they are leaders in vocation.
So:- Not every leader knows how to lead people;- not every leader occupies the position of leader;- leaders sometimes behave as leaders, but not always;- leadership is not only in leaders, but also outside of them.
