The beginning of the ascent along the route Rutburn-Trek
The Rutburn Track trail originates by the road that connects Milford with Lake Te-Anau.
Initially, your path will resemble a walk along the fabulous tunnel of sprawling emerald branches of trees, only occasionally a yellow glimpse flickens in the impenetrable green wall – this is a rare shrub Canary, a bird that is a sight of the southern islands.
After a while, the thickets will begin to thin and before you will open a view of the Holliford Valley. Not reaching the valley itself, you can leave backpacks and climb to the review point Ki-Sammit.
One gets the impression that you seemed to emerge from the malachite ocean and look around the epic mountain peaks. Not far away, you can climb to the observation deck by Lake Marion.
Further, the main path will lead to the Holliford valley.
