A year ago, Oprah Winfrey bought 344 hectares of land on the island of Maui, paying $6.4 million for it, thereby significantly expanding her existing holdings on this island (518 hectares). The plots that belong to her, mostly adjacent, stretch across green hills and reach a protected forest on the slope of the Haleakala volcano. The land is practically untouched, cattle roam – and Oprah intends to preserve nature in this form. “These places are similar to Scotland, only the weather is incomparably better,” says Bob Greene, the star’s fitness trainer, who has now also become the manager of her property.
